Town Lane Infant School was built in 1939 and is a light
and airy single storey building, set in spacious attractive
grounds with a large field to the rear. A large hall and
the main body of the school are built around a delightful
quadrangle garden.
From the initial construction additional classrooms have
been added to accommodate the increase in pupil numbers.
There are now ten classrooms, one of which is a Nursery
Class with 52 part-time places. These classes are set in
a spacious layout allowing generous learning areas for all
children. Many classes have extensive views to the rear
of the building.
All Foundation and Year 1 classes have direct access to
the outdoor learning environment.
The outdoor learning area is comprised of a shady woodland
walk, a large field area with wooded mounds and paths; and
fenced bark and hard surface areas for year round access.
There is an extensive grounds development project in progress
that aims to provide a stimulating outdoor environment for
all pupils that is continually building upon this excellent
resource.
The site is totally secure with a palisade fence along
the perimeter of the field, locked side gates and electronic
access to the main reception area.
