Firbobs is the recognised provider of extended school (out of school) services for the children of Town Lane Infant School and Higher Bebington Junior School. We have operated since September 2006 and the quality of our service was rated ‘GOOD’ ‘Good being defined as an area of strength’ overall by Ofsted in June 2007. Ofsted recognised our provision as ‘OUTSTANDING’ in ‘Helping Children to make a positive Contribution to the setting and wider community’. We are committed to providing an accessible provision for all children and are happy to support parents whose children require special dietary/medical needs or require support with accessibility or learning.
We believe that childcare should be flexible and as such we can accommodate parents and children who require the services inline with shift patterns, we only ask people to pay for the childcare for the days they have booked to use the provision and provide shift rota’s at least 1 month in advance.
We currently offer the following services:
Breakfast Club:
Our Breakfast Club is open from 7.45am to the start of the school day. We offer a safe and caring environment for your children. We have lots of fun with a wide range of activities and resources to keep your little ones entertained. Our Breakfast Club currently operates from the school hall. We offer a healthy and nutritious breakfast to set your little ones up for the day.

A range of sugar free cereal (Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Weetabix, Shreddies,) with fresh milk
Hot buttered toast with jam, lemon curd or cheese spread
Fresh Fruit (Apples, Pears, Grapes & Strawberries)

The cost of Breakfast Club is £3 a session per children
After School Club:
Our Afterschool Club operates from the end of the school day until 5.30pm. We operate a council approved Walking Bus from school to Grange United Reformed Church, Kings Lane, where we have access to high quality premises with a secure out door play area. On our ‘Award Winning’ Walking Bus we wear high visibility jackets to enhance safety and observe a 1 adult: 5 children as advised by Travelwise. At the club we have a wide range of resources and activities for your children to do. All of our activities are free choice and the children decide what they want to do from a wide range of activities that are varied each day. On arrival at the club we offer a drink and a snack. We promote healthy eating and encourage the children to help the Playworkers prepare snacks.

Holiday Club:
During each of the school holiday periods except between Christmas and New Year we operate a provision from 8.30am until 5.30pm. As well as having an extensive range of activities for the children to enjoy within the facilities we have at Grange United Reformed Church, we explore the local community. Visits include Bidston Windmill, Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm, Liverpool World Museum, Chester Zoo, the cinema, local sports centres and Ten Pin Bowling. We strive wherever possible to include the costs of all days out and activities in our fee. There are no hidden charges.
We provide breakfast as well as a mid morning and afternoon snack in line with the menu for the After School Club. Children are required to being a packed lunch.
Full and half day session are available, with discounts available for any full weeks that are booked.
The cost of Holiday Club is £90 per full week, £20 per day, £12 per half day inclusive of most activities per child.
